Botanical Bonanza

Pea plant growing with the sun shining in the background

Spring into spring with a botanical bonanza!

Visit Questacon's Q Lab and dig into the metaphorical soil of botany. Discover how to extract DNA from peas and how an Austrian monk and his pea plants formed the basis of modern genetics. Learn how to make a battery from a vegetable and try to power your house with potatoes; literally, a power plant! Build a terrarium from plastic cups and try to sprout some seeds. Poke a touch-sensitive plant.

Get a green thumb and grow your mind!
