Hearty Science

Heart-shaped hole cut in a red wooden wall

Weighing roughly a quarter of a kilogram, the human heart has become the universal symbol of love. It will pump approximately 100 000 times each day, transporting blood throughout the body.

On World Heart Day (29 September), visit Questacon's Q Lab to get up close with heart dissections.  Discover if the heart is really full of love, or just veins and vessels.
