What happened to the dinosaurs?

This question has puzzled scientists for many years.

No one really knows what happened to the dinosaurs. Different scientists think different events may have caused them to die out.

Research all the possible reasons for why dinosaurs became extinct.

Decide on one reason and choose an interesting way of sharing your decision with the class.

Notes for teachers

Set students a research project to explore their favored extinction theory. They should consider evidence that supports their theory as well as any shortcomings that are apparent. They could also propose their own theory (but do encourage them to support it with evidence). The final presentation could be “The Last of the Dinosaurs”.
