The imperative of science communication.

Plenary Speaker: Professor Peter Doherty, Australian Nobel Prize Winner and Chair, Department of Immunology, St Jude Children's Research Hospital, USA and Chair, Department of Microbiology and Immunology, University of Melbourne, Australia.

Scientists are increasingly aware of the necessity to communicate the contribution, values and excitement of science to the broader community. My own experience has convinced me that many people are interested and prepared to listen. Finding the right voice is not, however, something that comes easily to many professional scienctists.
