Questacon topped the ACT Tourism Awards for the taking out the Significant Attraction award, announced at Parliament House last night.
Linda Staite Marketing Manager for Questacon accepted the award thanking her team and colleagues for their support. To the team at Questacon thank you and to the Department of Education Science and Training for your support and enthusiasm for what we do at Questacon. It is a wonderful way to top off a great year!
The annual Canberra and Capital Region Tourism Awards showcase the best of the regions tourism operators and promote, encourage and reward tourism excellence. The win highlights Questacon as a significant tourist attraction for Canberra and the Region.
Questacon Director, Graham Durant was extremely pleased congratulating everyone in Questacon on such a fantastic job throughout the year and a well-deserved win.
The Questacon family is extremely tight knit and supportive of each other. To see their efforts and success awarded is fantastic. Winning the award for three years is testament to our team and our mission to make science fun and relevant for everyone.
Questacon has won the award in this category in 2002- 2003 and 2005 at both State and National levels. Having won the 2006 Award Questacon will now represent the Canberra and Capital Region at the Australian Tourism Awards to be announced in February 2007 in Sydney.
Ms Staite comments We have our fingers crossed for the National Awards, having won in the last year we are hoping to make it two in a row with hope for three in 2008, to enter us in to the Hall of Fame.
