Questacon—The National Science and Technology Centre celebrated is biggest weekend in nearly ten years this Queen’s Birthday long weekend.
Total visitors for the three day weekend increased by 25% compared to the Queen’s Birthday long weekend in 2008.
Saturday’s Flight @ Questacon event saw an increase in visitors of 58% for the same Saturday in 2008.
“The Queen’s Birthday long weekend is typically a busy one for Questacon. We were delighted to see so many people from Canberra and the surrounding region enjoy part of their long weekend at Questacon.
“From all accounts the highlights for many visitors were the tethered hot-air balloon rides and paper plane making workshops during our Flight @ Questacon event on Saturday,” said Professor Graham Durant, Questacon Director.
Anecdotally, the overwhelming majority of visitors to Questacon last weekend were Canberra locals or from South East NSW.
The last time Questacon recorded more visitors was the Easter weekend in 2000.
