Questacon Invention Convention

Questacon Invention Conventions are multi-day workshops for 14-18 year olds where you can work with mentors and innovators to turn your ideas into reality.

National Questacon Invention Convention

Applications for the 2021 National Questacon Invention Convention are now closed!

The National Questacon Invention Convention is an all-expenses paid, five day workshop held in Canberra. This program gives 25 delegates aged 14-18 the opportunity to play, make and create with us, designing and developing a prototype that solves a real world problem.

Participants use tools, tech, and materials, work with local mentors and entrepreneurs, and forge friendships that last a lifetime!

In January 2021 the National Questacon Invention Convention will be open to Canberra and Queanbeyan residents only. The safety of all participants is our top priority. We have opted for a highly localised event to ensure effective ongoing management of the COVID-19 pandemic and to adhere to developments in evolving travel restrictions.

You are welcome to contact us at if you have any questions about the event.

Regional Invention Conventions

Our regional Invention Conventions are free, three-day workshops that let you explore design, technology and innovation with other young innovators. Use a range of tools and materials, from robotics and electronics to hot glue and pop sticks, to design and prototype your ideas to solve real-world problems.

This program is open to 14-18 year olds in regional Australia attending an Australian secondary school and may be run as virtual workshops.

For further information email us at and we will get back to you as soon as we can!
