National Questacon Invention Convention

The National Invention Convention is an all-expenses paid, five day workshop held in Canberra every January. This program gives 25 delegates aged 14-18 from all around Australia the opportunity to play, make and create with us, designing and developing a prototype that solves a real world problem.

Participants use tools, tech and materials, work with local mentors and entrepreneurs, and forge friendships that last a lifetime!

Please note that the 2020 National Invention Convention due to be held in January was postponed due to vast bushfire activity in the regions surrounding the ACT. The rescheduled event will now take place from 15-19 April 2020.

Regional Invention Conventions

Our regional Invention Conventions are free, three-day workshops that let you explore design, technology and innovation with other young innovators. Use a range of tools and materials, from robotics and electronics to hot glue and pop sticks, to design and prototype your ideas to themed challenges.

In 2020, regional Invention Conventions are scheduled to take place in Rockhampton (QLD) in July and in Darwin (NT) in October. These events are open to 14-18 year olds attending an Australian secondary school.
