Questacon Invention Convention

Questacon Invention Conventions are multi-day workshops for 14-18 year olds where you can work with mentors and innovators to turn your ideas into reality.

Coming up:

  • Gladstone Invention Convention, 1-3 October 2019, CQU Gladstone (QLD)
  • National Invention Convention, 13-17 January 2020, Questacon (ACT)

Applications for the National Invention Convention are open to students from all over Australia. Click the tabs below to access application forms for these events.

Gladstone Invention Convention

Our regional Invention Conventions are free, three-day workshops that let you explore design, technology and innovation with other young innovators. Use a range of tools and materials, from robotics and electronics to hot glue and pop sticks, to design and prototype your ideas to themed challenges.

In 2019 we have visited Mildura VIC, Albury-Wodonga NSW, and we are heading to Gladstone QLD soon. These events are open to 14-18 year olds attending an Australian secondary school.

Registrations are now open for the Gladstone Invention Convention, 1-3 October!

National Questacon Invention Convention

The National Invention Convention is an all-expenses paid, five day workshop held in Canberra every January. This program gives 25 delegates aged 14-18 from all around Australia the opportunity to play, make and create with us, designing and developing a prototype that solves a real world problem.

Use tools, tech and materials, work with local mentors and entrepreneurs, and forge friendships that last a lifetime!

The National Invention Convention is open to 14-18 year olds attending an Australian secondary school. Please note that if you've already participated in a National Invention Convention then unfortunately you are not eligible to apply. If you've been part of a regional Invention Convention please do apply!
