Professional Learning Workshops

The Shell Questacon Science Circus offers “Hands On Science Activities” professional learning workshops for teachers. These practical and hands-on sessions, aimed at primary school teachers, explore a variety of activities using familiar low-cost materials (paper clips, plastic tubes, string, tape etc).

Pick up new ideas for teaching science and technology in fun ways that hold a challenge for your students. The sessions are hosted by Science Circus presenters who will guide you through the activities. A copy of the workshop notes are included and provided to every participant.

Questacon Outreach activities align with the Australian Curriculum: Science at the primary and lower secondary level. The activities support the teaching of science with practical ideas. The workshop is accredited by NESA in New South Wales and aligns to standard 3 of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (Proficient Level).
