I grew up on a small farm in Tasmania and have always felt happiest when I’m outdoors. I previously completed a Bachelor of Science majoring in archaeology and a Master of Environmental Science and Management at the University of New England in NSW. This allowed me to work in some interesting roles in land management and Aboriginal heritage management.

Recently I’ve worked as an Aboriginal Discovery Ranger at Freycinet National Park in Tasmania. I talked to visitors about Aboriginal culture, caring for Country, and the plants and animals that are found in the park. My favourite activity was to run the Rockpool Ramble because I loved looking for the big hermit crabs that live along the coast and discussing the edible, ecologically important, and culturally significant seaweeds that grow there. This job made me realise how important science communication and outreach activities are and I’m excited to be learning more as part of the 2021 Questacon Science Circus team.
