Mid-Winter Nights @ Questacon

Don’t waste the winter sun, come explore Questacon after dark. Celebrate winter with tasty food, stargazing, winter crafts and science shows in addition to our eight action-packed galleries. Immerse yourself in the ultimate winter activity these July school holidays with Mid-Winter Nights @ Questacon!

Online ticket sales will close at midday each day for the event that evening. After ticket sales have closed the only tickets available will be for sale at the door. If you will be purchasing at the door we encourage you to come as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Join the Canberra Astronomy Society as they show off the wonders of the night sky. Be sure to rug up; "baby, it's cold outside!" (Weather permitting)

Indulge in the Mega Bites Café's over-the-top hot chocolates in the warmth of the café. It's the perfect after dinner treat!

And learn some science too… Create your own personal flurry as you make a snowflake and add it to the swirling storm inside the Questacon foyer.

BOC Liquid Nitrogen Show

Each night at 6 pm, 7 pm and 8 pm.

It might be winter outside but it's a balmy Caribbean summer compared to liquid nitrogen. Safely experience thrills and chills at temperatures almost 200 degrees below zero with this amazing substance. This is definitely our coolest show!
