Discover fun, simple ways your family can reduce waste together! Come meet Binion the bin puppet and explore playful, hands‑on activities perfect for young children. You can enjoy easy sorting games, sticker activities, and interactive learning that makes recycling fun. Our friendly ACT NoWaste Education team will share practical tips and helpful resources to support waste‑wise habits at home, school, and on the go. Come along and ask questions to discover how small everyday choices make a big difference.

Bones Abound

BLUE DOOR ROOM (G5) | 10AM - 2PM 
How do these bones fit together!? Little Explorers can see a real-life bone puzzle while, Volunteer Explainer Dr Sheena Adamson, pieces together real skeleton shapes to imagine prehistoric giants. It’s an interactive way to spark curiosity and perfect for budding palaeontologists!

Culture on the Move | Native animal making workshop

GALLERY 8 - MANGROVES | 10AM-12PM, FRIDAY ONLY 
Inspired by the Tjanpi weavers, come and join Ronnie Jordan to create your very own bush animal using natural fibres which are collected and sourced from the bush to add to your animal. This workshop provides not only bush animal making but detailed stories about hunting and much more.

Come join Questacon’s Excited Particles for a roaring dinosaur adventure! This interactive science show helps unravel every child’s ultimate question: Is this a Dinosaur? Mini Shed

GALLERY 5 - THE SHED 
Get hands-on with shadows and light in the Shed! Little Explorers can tinker with different materials to see how they interact with light and create amazing shadows. With plenty of opportunities to build, tinker and make; The Shed is the perfect place for little ones to experience engineering through play.

The afternoon invites children into a calm, sensory-rich environment for open-ended, child-led exploration. Families move through five investigation stations which could include streamers, loose parts, fabrics, and movement, designed to spark curiosity, experimentation, and early STEM thinking. Educators support children’s discoveries while encouraging autonomy, creativity, and hands-on learning.
