What you’ll do
Our volunteer program covers a bit of everything here at Questacon! As part of our team, you’ll:
- be challenged by curious young (and young-at-heart) minds wanting to know why and how,
- encourage visitors to get the most out of their visit to Questacon. One minute you might be telling a young child which button to push, and the next minute explaining a complex concept to an adult,
- learn to become a confident communicator, because our visitors are from all ages and backgrounds,
- be patient and prepared for unusual questions.
What you’ll get from us
As a volunteer, you’ll receive:
- thorough ongoing training and support
- a $10 travel reimbursement for each 4 hour shift you complete
- parking free of charge during shift
- discounts from Atomic Catering and the Questacon Shop
- heaps of smiling faces.
Hours
Our volunteers can work up to 16 hours per week.
We can offer flexible volunteering hours because we are open 7 days a week.

They support Questacon’s visitor experience by communicating science confidently, promoting curiosity, and contributing to a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
Our volunteers are passionate about science and technology and want to share this with our visitors.
