About

Orbiting Ambition: Space Missions and Journeys of Japanese and Australian Trailblazers is a free public event co-hosted by ANU Inspace and the Embassy of Japan. This exciting evening will inspire high school, college, and university students through keynote speeches from Australia’s First Female Astronaut Katherine Bennell-Pegg and Head Manager of Japan’s famed Hayabusa Space Mission Professor Kawaguchi. These will be followed by an interactive panel discussion featuring pioneers from the Australian and Japanese space sectors.

Held at Questacon’s Japan Theatre, the event highlights the achievements and journeys of these trailblazers and what inspired and motivated them. Together, they’ll explore the future of the space industry and offer insights to the next generation of space explorers.
