​Once the sun sets on Halloween, Questacon will transform into a haunted playground where the shadows come alive and the science gets spooky. Wander through the ghostly halls after dark and uncover spooky science, see mad scientists in action and come dressed to impress – or terrify.   

​Expect strange sights around every corner as you see our mad scientists’ live Liquid Fright-rogen show, explore parasites and plagues, or dance the night away at a Halloween House Party that’ll rattle your bones.   

​Whether you’re a science fanatic, a Halloween enthusiast or just chasing a frightfully fun night out, SciFright promises chills, thrills and a night full of fright that will haunt you long after you leave.

​Dr Frankenstein’s Monster Lab  

​Channel your inner mad scientist and piece together your own monster in Dr Frankenstein’s Monster Lab.   

​Stories and Talks  

​Gather ‘round the campfire and keep your friends close for Scary Stories. Explore monsters big and small as we delve into your deepest fears and discover the science behind the screams.   

​Liquid Fright-rogen  

​Enter if you dare, as our in-house mad scientist unleashes the chilling powers of liquid nitrogen in an explosive, spine-tingling performance, showcasing the weird, wonderful, and worrisome.  

​Dissect the Unexpected   

​Not for the squeamish, Q Lab will be running live dissections of cane toads at intervals throughout the night. Explore the entrails of this classic cauldron ingredient with some hands-on learning.   

​Why Are You Dressed So Scary?  

​Dress to impress – or terrify – and capture your spooky arrival at the Trick or Treat. Then don’t forget a souvenir for your killer collection with our Photo Booth.   

​Take your costume to the next level and let Dr Scar leave their mark, as werewolves and vampires run rampant through the halls.   

​All kinds of real or toy weapons are strictly prohibited. Please make sure your face is visible and identifiable.

​SciFright tickets include access to all open galleries, where you can uncover the unexpected with Questacon Presents: ZAP! CLANK! POW!, be transported to the Top End with Mangroves – Tales from the Tide, join us for the ultimate Halloween Party in Earthquake House, and defy gravity on the Free Fall.
