Looking for more ways to strengthen STEM learning in your classroom? Questacon is hosting a STEM Community of Practice in the Hunter Region, supporting educators connect with resources - and each other! Come and join in the first meetup for 2026.

You’ll get hands-on with an adaptable STEM activity, explore NSW syllabus connections, and discuss ways to extend and enrich your STEM teaching.

Whether you’re a confident STEM educator, new to teaching STEM, or looking to grow your professional network, the Hunter Region STEM Community Practice is for you!

Take part in this FREE professional learning session to:

  • Meet other educators to share and learn from each other.
  • Get practical STEM activity ideas for your classroom.
  • Access Q.Ed Community, our online, national community of practice.
  • Gain insights into STEM resources, events, and opportunities.
  • Connect with your local Questacon Regional Leader!

Questacon’s Regional Leaders are in every state and territory across Australia, helping educators build confidence and capacity in STEM education. 

Things to know

  • Suitable for primary and high school educators from all sectors, teacher librarians, pre-service teachers, and outreach educators interested in STEM.
  • FREE to attend, but registration is required to secure your spot.
  • Invite a colleague along! Everyone is welcome, regardless of STEM experience.
  • Afternoon tea will be provided.
  • Hunter Region STEM Community of Practice meetings will be held in Terms 2, 3, and 4.
  • The Term 2 venue is closest to educators in the Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, Cessnock, Maitland and Port Stephens local government areas.
