Wandering with Whales – A Spring holiday puppet show.

Where are the whales going, and why? Become a scientist and let's discover together how and why whales migrate and how to study them in the wild - What can we learn from whale-snot? Come discover Australia’s amazing humpback whales and have a whale of a time!

Come travel aboard our special Blue Door Room research ship: The InQuestigator and become a scientist in Wandering with Whales, presented by Questacon’s Excited Particles team. This interactive puppet show takes audiences on a fin‑filled adventure as part of a scientific mission to find, follow and learn about whales.

This show will be on in the Blue Door Room at 10.15 am, 11.15 am and 12.15 pm every day from 28 September to 11 October 2026, weekdays and weekends.

Things to know

  • This show will be on in the Blue Door Room at 10.15 am, 11.15 am and 12.15 pm every day during the Spring holidays (apart from the first weekend).
  • This show is suitable for children ages 3-6 and their families.
  • Non-Members must purchase a General Admission ticket for Questacon entry.
  • There is no additional charge for the show.
  • Doors open 5 minutes before the show starts.
  • No booking required, but seating is limited so early arrival is recommended.
