About

Join educators, industry professionals, and community partners for a special Alice Springs STEAM (STEM + Arts) Teacher Network event exploring how schools and local organisations can work together to create authentic STEM learning experiences.

This event will feature a behind-the-scenes tour of the Alice Springs Wastewater Treatment Plant and a hands-on introduction to That’s My Water!, Power Water’s flagship school education program. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the Alice Springs Water Story and the strong links it has to learning outcomes in the classroom.

The event will create space for educators, industry, and community organisations to connect, share ideas and explore how stronger local partnerships can support STEM learning across Central Australia. Whether you are looking to bring industry connections into your classroom, connect with schools, or learn from successful partnership models, this event offers practical inspiration and valuable networking opportunities.

What to expect

  • Tour the Alice Springs Wastewater Treatment Plant and learn where Alice Springs’ water comes from, how it is managed, and the science and engineering behind local water infrastructure.

  • Explore That’s My Water!, Power Water’s education program, including how schools can get involved and what makes it a successful example of an industry-school partnership.

  • Connect with educators, industry professionals and community organisations from across Central Australia to build connections, share ideas, and explore future STEM partnership opportunities.
