We’re celebrating a year of connection across STEM educators, outreach and industry by gathering at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG). Come and hear from educators on what’s worked in their STEM classroom this year, take part in planning your STEM journey for 2027, and explore one of the amazing exhibitions at the museum; Islands to Ice, showcasing the Antarctic and Southern Ocean and the Tasmania: Earth and Life exhibition.

At each meeting there is an opportunity to hear from local educators about their best STEM practice in the classroom, connect to your local Questacon Regional Leader, complete hands-on STEM activities and discuss how you can extend and enrich your STEM teaching. In this session we’ll focus on Earth and Space Science, explore the education offerings from TMAG, and hear from Tassie scientists working on Antarctic science.

Questacon Regional Leaders are in every state and territory across Australia to help you build confidence and capacity in STEM education wherever you are.

Things to know

  • Suitable for home-schoolers, primary and junior secondary teachers in Eastern Victoria: including Bairnsdale and Sale, and surrounding areas as well as those with an interest in STEM education.
  • Sessions are FREE to attend, but registration is required to secure your spot.
  • If these dates or locations don’t suit you, you can express your interest in future opportunities via email.
  • This event will be catered, so after registering, please send an email to regionalleaders@questacon.edu.au stating the event in which you have registered and notifying your specific dietary requirements.
