Build your confidence to bring STEM learning to life in your classroom through hands-on, practical professional learning.

Starting in STEM supports educators to explore what STEM looks like in practice and how inquiry, collaboration and design thinking can be embedded across the curriculum. During this interactive workshop, you will take part in adaptable STEM activities, explore practical teaching strategies and connect with other educators.

This workshop is being delivered for the whole school community at St John’s School, with a morning and an afternoon session available. Both sessions will cover the same content, so participants only need to attend one. 

Educators from other schools and learning settings across the Mid-West WA region are also warmly invited to register.

Things to know

  • Suitable for primary and secondary teachers, education support staff and others with an interest in STEM education.
  • This workshop is open to St John’s School staff and educators from across the Mid-West WA region.
  • Choose either the morning or afternoon session. Both sessions cover the same content, and participants only need to attend one.
  • Each workshop runs for 2 hours 20 minutes and will include break times.
  • The workshop is free, but registration is essential as places are limited.
  • The workshop includes hands-on activities, collaborative discussion and practical ideas that can be adapted for different year levels and learning areas.
  • The event will be held at St John’s School, 12 Tamar Street, Rangeway WA.
