About
Aimed for years 3-6. 60-minute duration.
Explore under the sea and in the sky with us this National Science Week! We’ll guide participants through experiments using simple materials, while collecting their hypotheses and ideas through interactive polls and Q&A functions.
Foldable Flight
Learn how to design two different types of paper planes, darts and gliders, and how various design features such as wing size shape and angle, can affect stability and drag.
Under the Sea:Coral Reef
Share some of your favourite reef creatures and make a coral polyp to add to your own ‘reef’. Learn about some of the conditions corals need to survive, and what happens when those conditions change. Become an ocean engineer by testing different materials and thinking how they might be used to build tools for scientists to study the underwater environment.
Linked below is a teacher resource guide that outlines the key concepts covered in the webinars, as well as some simple classroom activities for your class to follow along with during the webinar and be extended to support existing lesson plans.
Our webinars have live-captioning available.
